Description:
The parameters below are those required to attain the 'dirty' tone used by myself in the band ergasia. I use an Affinity Series Squier Telecaster guitar. The body is alder and the neck/fretboard maple all with a polyurethane coat. There are two single-coil pickups that I use simultaneously by keeping the three-way selector switch in 'position two' which is central. I run a lead from the Tele to the INPUT jack of my Zoom G7.1ut Guitar Effects Console. The G7.1ut is the real workhorse of my guitar rig. It handles everything from my tone to my volume. I make sure that all the patches that I use with ergasia are of equal or very similar volume so switching between different patches doesn't mean a massive drop in volume. From the L/MONO OUTPUT of the G7.1ut I run a lead into the L/MONO LINE IN jack of a Crate CPB150 150W Amplifier. The CPB150 was specifically designed to be used with modelling pedals and for me it makes a perfect addition to my rig as it allow everything from tone to volume to be controlled by the G7.1ut Effects Console. From the CPB150 speaker outputs I run a lead to a basic 4x10 cabinet. If a gig requires I also have the ability to run two separate cabinets from the CPB150. Using a bass cabinet and a guitar cabinet simultaneously can result in some interesting tones but I strictly don't do this for smaller gigs at it really isn't necessary. Using this rig is the most simple and effective way for me to utilise the G7.1ut in the way that works best for me. The best thing about effects consoles is that what you put in is what you get out.
