The emailing system Microsoft Entourage is the Macintosh equivalent of Microsoft Outlook for Windows. This document explains how to access Entourage and how to use the Setup Assistant to set up your email account.

Accessing Entourage
These instructions explain how to access Entourage.
From the Dock, click Entourage.
OR
Double click the Finder icon » select Applications » Microsoft Office 2008 » Microsoft Entourage.
Configuring an Account Manually
Once you have accessed Entourage, you will have to configure an account to access your University email.
From the Tools menu, select Accounts...
The Accounts dialog box appears.- Click the next to New.
- Select Exchange...
The Account Setup Assistant dialog box appears. Click Configure Account Manually.
The Edit Account dialog box appears.Select the Account Settings tab.
In the Account name text box, type the desired account name.
NOTE: The Account name appears at the top of the Folder list in Entourage.In the Name text box, type your name.
In the E-mail address text box, type your email address.
In the Account ID text box, type your username.
In the Domain text box, type UWEC.
In the Password text box, type your password.
Select Save passwordin my Mac OS keychain.
NOTE: A check mark appears when the option is selected.In the Exchange Server text box, type https://webmail.uwec.edu.
Select the Advanced Settings tab.
In the Public FoldersServer text box, type cherrypepsi/public.
In the LDAP Server text box, type bacon.
Click OK.
NOTES: The Account Information dialog box appears.Type the appropriate information.
Click OK.
Entourage begins to update all of your email files, which may take several minutes.Close the Accounts dialog box.
Configuring an Account Automatically
Once you have accessed Entourage, you will have to configure an account to access you university email.
From the Tools menu, select Accounts...
The Accounts dialog box appears.Click New.
The New Account dialog box appears.Click Setup Assistant.
The Account Setup Assistant dialog box appears.In the E-mail address text box, type your existing email address.
Select My account is on an Exchange server.
NOTES:
All University email accounts are on an exchange server.
A checkmark appears in the box when it is selected.Click Right Arrow.
The Account Information dialog box appears.In the Domain text box, type UWEC.
In the User ID text box, type your username.
In the Password text box, type your password.
Click OK.
The Account Information dialog box closes.Click Right Arrow.
A dialog box appears indicating whether the configuration succeeded.Click Right Arrow.
The Verify and Complete Settings dialog box appears.Verify the information.
Click Right Arrow.
A dialog box appears asking if you want to verify account settings.Click Verify My Settings.
Your account settings are verified.Click Right Arrow.
A dialog box appears informing you setup is complete.In the Account name text box, type the desired account name.
NOTE: The Account name appears at the top of the Folder list in Entourage.Click Finish.
Click OK.
NOTE: The Account Information dialog box appears.Type the appropriate information and click OK.
NOTE: Entourage updates your email files. This may take several minutes.Close the Accounts dialog box.

Brief Description
To take advantage of the latest innovations that Exchange 2007 has to offer, Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition uses Exchange Web Services to communicate with Exchange Server. In this update, Entourage uses Exchange Web Services to provide several calendaring improvements. The update includes support for notes, tasks, and category synchronization with the Exchange Server.

Overview
Microsoft Entourage 2008 for Mac, Web Services Edition uses Exchange Web Services as the primary protocol to communicate with Exchange Server. In addition to several calendaring improvements, this new version of Entourage synchronizes notes, tasks, and categories with Exchange Server. To install this update
Caution If you want to go back to the earlier version of Entourage after you install Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition, you have to remove the complete Office 2008 application.
- Print this page if you want to use it as a reference when you are offline.
- Quit any applications that are running, including all Office applications, Microsoft Messenger, and Office Notifications, because they might interfere with installation.
- Make sure that your computer meets the minimum system requirements.
- Click Download, or click the link for the language version that you want.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to save the file to your hard disk. If you are using Safari, the downloaded file is saved to the desktop unless you specified a different location in the Preferences dialog box of Safari. To check your preferences, on the Safari menu, click Preferences, and then click General.
- Double-click the file that you downloaded in step 5 to put the Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition Update on your desktop, and then double-click the Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition Update to open it. This step might have been performed for you.
- In the Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition Update window, follow the instructions on the screen to start the installation process.
Note You cannot run Entourage 2008 for Mac and Entourage 2008 for Mac, Web Services Edition, on the same computer. Also, during the installation process, your Entourage 2008 identity is not imported or upgraded automatically for use with Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition. You must import from the existing identity. When you first launch the new version of Entourage, you will have the option to import your existing Entourage 2008 identity. To remove this update
Quit all applications before you run Remove Office. Also, you must have administrative credentials on the computer to remove Office.
- Open/username/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Additional Tools/Remove Office/, and then double-click Remove Office.
- Follow the instructions to remove Office.
- On the Finder menu, click Empty Trash.
Microsoft Entourage 2008 Help
If you want to reinstall an earlier version of Office 2008 for Mac, you have to reinstall the complete Office 2008 suite from the Office 2008 for Mac disk. You will also have to import your Entourage 2008 identity from the archived Entourage 2008 database. You cannot use your Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition identity with the earlier version of Office 2008 for Mac.
