1) The Steinway Grand Piano. This is the stock piano that comes with Garageband. When you first open up Garageband and select “Software Instrument,” and the interface opens up on your screen, you’ll be given the option on the left-hand side: “Piano,” and then “Steinway Grand Piano.”. It says on the left-side, “Bass,” “Drum. XPand!2 and Little Pump Reeds are probably the best way to get started with accordion-type instruments in Garageband, however, if you’re really serious about getting the best quality of accordion available, then Eduardo Tarilonte’s Accordions 2 is a better choice. The sounds that come with Accordions 2 are probably the best that money can buy.

Authorizing Xpand!2

Xpand!2 is a multitimbral workhorse which includes over 2,500 presets and parts to cover an assortment of instrumental needs. In this article, we'll walk through how to download and authorize Xpand!2.

How do I download and authorize Xpand!2

1. First, decide whether you'd like to install the Windows version, or the Mac version. Then click one of the two links below. On right-hand side of the website that opens, enter your information to download AIR Xpand!2 Trial for either Windows or Mac. You will be e-mailed a download link after completing the form.
   
   • Xpand!2 for Mac
     
2. Install AIR Xpand!2 using the link you received via email at the end of step 1 above.
   If you received an authrorization code, either as part of a promotion, or upon purchasing the software, you will be able to fully authorize the trial, turning it into the full version of Xpand!2.
   Use your authorization code code in the iLok License Manager to activate the full version of AIR Xpand!2.
